Safety For Our Customers
All of the Discovery Timber Play equipment complies to EN1176, the European Standard for Playground Equipment. We also ensure that ALL of installations are fitted with our plaque showing this conformity.
Safety Survey
First of all positioning of equipment and link equipment is very important. Interaction of groups of children on one piece of equipment. Furthermore age groups, boys/girls mix, it all needs to be considered apart from being stimulating.
Safe Installation
Out site installers are both fidelity bonded and DBS checked. Furthermore they are fully health and safety trained and consequently will ensure all site work is kept organised, tidy with all appropriate barriers/guards if children are present.
Safety in mind
All elements of manufacture are carried out using over specified sections of timber. While spacings of components are carefully measured out so as not to trap little fingers and then only the best quality stainless steel fixings, slides, poles, netting are used.
Safety Surfaces
Finally, Discovery Timber Play, as part of an installation process provide all types of safety surfaces.
Please see below, the options available…
Grass Mats
Grass mats are designed specifically for use as surfacing underneath play equipment. The tiles allow existing grass to grow through which can then be mown as usual. Most noteworthy, these mats can provide a critical fall height (CFH) of up to 3 metres.
Wet Pour
Wetpour is a continuous rubber surface that gives a high quality, hard wearing, slip resistant surface requiring little or no maintenance. Mixed on site the rubber EPDM granule and polyurethene resin mixture is wet laid to various thicknesses on to a prepared area.
Artificial Grass
Artificial grass provides an advanced technical performance in a surface that as a result looks, feels and plays like the real thing. For that reason there’s no mowing, no watering and it’s low maintenance. This product, has a CFH of up to 3 metres.
Rubber Mulch
Rubber mulch is a solid black rubber shred from recycled rubber that is then coloured with a unique encapsulation process. The rubber shred is then bound with a specially formulated P.U. Binder and can be laid on to solid compacted ground with a membrane and hence, unlike wetpour does not require a sub base or any edging.
Loose Fill
Loose fill has excellent impact absorbing properties and combines with many units to give a warm natural appearance. The capital cost of loose fill is far less than wetpour, artificial grass and rubber mulch, as a result however maintenance costs (ie raking and top up’s) should be taken in to account.
